I am on the cusp of committing to converting to running a Mac. I am not quite there, but hope to be able to commit in a couple of months and when I am feeling slightly wealthier.

The problem I has is that my existing PC borne external hard drive has/is dying.

Could I buy a time capsule (as I plan to use one when I have a Mac) as a storage device for my PC in the short term and then use once I am running a Mac?

My local store suggests that it will be fine but they want a sale after all.

Comments and advice appreciated.

Yes, Time Capsule will work since Apple [1] says that they provide software for both Mac and Windows. There's also a step-by-step [2] guide should you need it..
