iPhone crashed when installing 4.2

So... I have an iphone 3GS and upgraded the software to 4.2 when it was released last week. When it was installing it crashed and sent the iphone into recovery mode! It's never happened before and I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem???

Is it still failing to update?

I had that problem updating my Dad's iPad. It would try to update, but the status bar would get stuck about 75% through and never finish.
Had to go to DFU mode and same problem.
Turns out the firmware update was corrupted. Had to delete it and re-download. That fixed it right up
