Ok, so I'm pretty sure of the awnser already but this is my last resort :

Can I use my 21,5 inch imac as a screen for my ps3. I know the mini display on the 21.5 inch is just output but is there a way to tweek it ?

I bought a benkins hdmi to dvi convertor 'cause the guy at the apple store told me there was a way to make it work with it. Apparently there isn't, so this is my last check before returning the device and curling into a ball crying.

For the price of the device, I can buy a 21 inc flat screen tv, but having two screens like that in a small student apparment isn't really convenient.

Thanks alot

Quite simply - no. You are not going to input video through the video out port on any Mac.

The 27" iMac has a separate video input port which enables it to be used as a monitor.

You would need a video capture device for yours. I would recommend getting the monitor.
