Depends on whether a particular app is multi-thread capable or not.

There was never a 1.47 Ghz G4 stock in any Mac. There was a 1.42Ghz. Which machine is this in? I believe the 1.42Ghz Power Mac (MDD) had dual CPU's.

If it's truly one 1.42, like Bob says, depends on the application, but if the application properly used 2 CPU's, then the 1.25Ghz Dual would be the fastest.

I bought a Quicksilver off craigslists a long time ago.. its either a 1.47 or 1.42.. I"m not sure what all this guy did to it. Runs good.. but now I have a dual 1.25 Mirror drive.. I'm trying to figure out if its any faster, or better of a machine. I do intensive PS work..

Does CS3 utilize dual processors?

If it's truly a modified Quicksilver with Upgrade CPU, The Bus is still running at 133 Mhz. The Mirror Drive Door (MDD)'s 1.25 Ghz and 1.42Ghz have a 166 Mhz Bus. That would give it a little kick performance wise also. When you boot up the Quicksilver, Click on the Apple and on About This Mac. What all does it say there? Also click on More INfo. See what it's saying for the CPU and all the info relating to it.

Forgot to mention this. I am pretty sure Adobe Photoshop CS3 would utilize both CPU's knowing photoshop.
