Just a little discussion that has been going on around my house, what time do people normally eat dinner on Thanksgiving? We usually have it around 1-2 PM. :)

12-1 PM. Not really dinner since it's more like lunch...and then we get to eat it again at 5. :p

Too many...
We don't have a specific time. In the past years, we have eaten "dinner" anywhere from 4-7pm. A couple of years ago, we closed down the restaurant the whole day, and partied there until the turkey was done and ready to devour. That was fun!

Lunchish, around 1-2.

My family's not too big on leftover turkey, so we prefer a smaller bird. Thaws and cooks faster, too.

I have to eat 3 dinners!

The first one at my Gramp's house. 12-1ish.

The second one will be at my grandmother's house. 2-4ish.

The third will be at my house. 4:30-nap time. lol

For our house we only bought an 11 lb bird this year.

About 5 years ago, my wife and I moved into our first apartment and had the family over for thanksgiving to celebrate. We bought a 28lb turkey!! It was so big, it almost touched the broiler element (the turkey bag actually burnt on top), and we had to special order a huge turkey pan from some cooking website.

When it comes to Thanksgiving, I'm all about the sides and no turkey. My main course is usually mashed potatoes and gravy!

LOL, me too.

My family is pretty international as well so we have lots of different foods. There is always pizza, some kind of pasta, Egg rolls, Pho and many other Asian foods that I don't know the names of.

We're pretty traditional with our meals.

I love, love, love turkey! But it's mostly for leftoevers. I usually get a leg or a couple slices of breast, and I just gorge myself on candied yams, stuffing, green bean casserole, and pie.

Looking forward to xmas, too. Wife is making a goose with plum stuffing and foie gras! Yum!

When i did have Thanksgiving dinner, it was usually around 1:00 or so. For the past 5 years (since I have no family in this state, am no longer married, and work Thanksgiving day), I have not had a Thanksgiving dinner. I will, however, be cooking four 20 pound turkeys at work for the lunch special on Thursday.

Wow! Thanks for all of the responses guys. I suppose it doesn't matter what time it's served, as long as it's served on Thanksgiving. ;) Funny, we usually have Turkey for Thanksgiving and X-mas, and occasionally on Easter too! (I prefer Ham on Easter though, kinda turkeyed out by then) ;D

I'm a Christmas ham kinda guy, myself. This'll be our second time to do a goose.

And we celebrate xmas, but I'm actually in the middle of a jewish conversion, as well (my wife and son are not, hence, xmas), so we also celebrate Hanukkah! Lots and lots of latkes and donuts! Yum yum!
