software problems....HELP NEEDED URGENTLY!!

hi,
i have a apple mac 10.4.11 tiger. I have recently bought a ipod generation 4 and when i plug it in it comes up with a message on itunes saying this ipod cannot be used because it requires mac os x 10.5.8 or later, will buying the snow leopard 10.6 upgrade c.d. solve this problem?

Yes. Now what Mac are you running? That is important because if it is none Intel system SL will not work with that system.

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2

here are the memory details:
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
so snow leopard 10.6 upgrade will work??

Yes Snow Leopard will work well however increase memory to at least 2GB and have included link to OWC Mac specialists last post.

I think in the Mac you have you can upgrade the memory to 2 GB. I would do that, that way SL will run a lot smoother. Good Luck.
