Recovering files

Does anyone know of a way to recover files deleted by rm?
I haven't had snapshotting enabled.

No, I was trying to remove a stubborn file from my trash can, and I must have screwed up the command line and deleted all my documents.

Any backups you can recover from ?

No, I hadn't yet setup any.

Most important thing is that you stop using the disk in order to prevent your deleted files from being overwritten.
There are some data recovery tools for Mac OS X and if you search the forums, you will find them.

As advised, stop using the drive. Download the trial version of Data Rescue 3 to another machine or an external HD. If it can rescue your documents, pay for a license. ($99)

Also you might want to learn how to use BASH from the Terminal. See this LINK for BASH commands and parameters.

Yeah, I tried running Stellar, it recovered my library of preferences and such, but none of the documents.
