Has anyone ever noticed that the only max DVD size that can be burned within Toast is 4.4GBs? I have 4.7Gb discs, and Toast doesn't read them as being so, and only burns up to 4.4, is there anyway to change this?

No that's normal, and try burning 4.7GB files, it will work.

You'll likely never be able to burn the whole 4.7GB to a disc because the disc formatting takes up a few hundred megs (in some cases). The amount varies, but you get the idea.

It's the same with a hard drive. If you have a 200GB hard drive, you'll likely only have 180GB of free space as soon as you plug it in. Formatting takes up space.

Oh that makes sense then CreativeGuy. I was trying to move data from a DVD-RW disc I had to a DVD+R, since I needed the RW for something else, and it seemed the RW had more data on it than the R could hold, even though they were both 4.7GBs in size. But I guess the formatting would make sense

Just to add though, If I have a 4.7GB ISO image or Video_TS folder and I drag it into to Toast to burn, it does so with no issue.

Yea I did try that with a 4.5Gb TSFolder, and it gave me compression options within Toast.
