I double-click an .mkv file and want it to open in VLC. It opens in Quicktime Player instead. I right-click and select open with... then choose VLC, and make sure to select the option "always open with this application". Click OK. I double-click another .mkv file.
It opens in Quicktime Player instead.
Facepalm.
What gives? This happens with every file I try to associate with another application.
