Problem with scanner

I just purchase an IMac and I am pretty happy with it. However, I can't get her to recognize the scanner in my Dell 2145cn multi. I can print thou. The printer is connected to my router and the IMac is connecter wireless to the router. How can I make the IMac see the scanner?

Consider yourself lucky to get the Dell to print! Dell printers are usually very difficult to get to work with Mac hardware because of the lack of drivers.

I just checked with Dell to see if there were by chance drivers available for Mac OS X. There were not. Only Vista and Windows 7 is supported. (I suspect also that XP is supported.) I would say if you can print OK with the Dell 2145cn, you're doing better than most who own Dell printers with their Mac.

One more thing - Lexmark usually makes printers for Dell. It's possible that you might find drivers from Lexmark that would work. Lexmark does support OS X.
