Hey guys just joined here in search of help.

So, I have a question which may require a long answer. If I have an iMac that i cannot login to, and I want to erase everything and install Snow Leopard, what are the steps necessary to accomplishing this?

Thanks guys!

G'day and welcome to the forums.

What are the specs of the iMac before we can suggest an opertating system, but assuming it is an Intel model, pop in the SL disc, reboot holding down 'C' after the chime. go to Utilities in the Menu Bar, select Disk Utility and hit Erase, partition if using only single partition and select GUID from Options, format Mac OS Extended (Journalled), back toi Installer, select language and proceed then update to OS X.6.5 using the Combo Updater from the Apple web site.
