Hi, I did an automatic software update for OSX Leopard yesterday and since then I've been getting a -50 error message everytime I try to move a file into the trash or to my external hard drive. Also the time machine can't back up automatically since then. Has anybody got any ideas please, I'm not really a techie so simple answers (if thats possible with Mac issues!) would be appreciated...
Many thanks

I'd try verifying permissions in disk utility first, and then see if you can trash without error.

Glad it helped, and now you know where to come should you have any problems in the future :)
