Hi.
Recently I posted on here asking what people thought about buying a refurbished iPhone from apple because I dropped mine and totalled it.

Well I got my replacement and it's been great, no probs so far *touch wood*

But

Apparently I have no brain because I dropped my ipod classic from the same shelf in my work locker....and it landed on the floor (apparently I didnt learn from the phone scenario not to put my expensive gadgets on this shelf)

The iPod was clicking and although the freezer trick along with a couple of thumps on my hand stopped the clicking but the screen is stuck on the red x and wont go into disk mode for me to restore it.

I'm looking online for replacement hard drives and although I cant find a 160GB for the 5th Gen, I have found a few for the 6th Gen.

Does anyone know if one of the 6th Gen ones would fit and work in my ipod?

nevermind. It is now totally knackered, I distracted my OH while he had it in bits and something has come off the main board.

Looks like a new iPod is what I'm now after :(
