Hi all,

Just loaded Vista on my MBP 13''.
It works, sort of.
Im mainly doing it for games, so i need sound.

It says on the icon on bottom left (with a 'red cross') "No audio output device is installed"...
Right so i go to install a new one by RealTek, Nothing.
Update the driver in control pannel, sound hardware etc..

It says

"Details -
Windows cannot initialise the device driver for this hardware.
(Code 37)"

Ive had a look round and ive tried updating it, downloading some now driver thing from, 'Cirrus logic'
And it did nothing!

So can anyone else help with this microflop problem.

It was SUCH a pleasure to gt back on to OSX after trying to use windows!!

Thx,
Andy

Did you insert your OS X install DVD after booting into Vista for the first time? If not, do so now.

yep i did that.

Interestingly, i completely removed the partition then re did it and when i re installed windows it had the driver and said i could use the volume but nothing came out...
And there was a red light coming out of the headphone jack.

Then when i installed the OSX it removed it... So its the Apple software thats taking it away.
But neither of them worked.

Updated both and it kept saying that it is using the best software for both.

If you've got a red light coming out of the headphone jack, you have a hardware issue of the optical being stuck in the on position.

Take your headphones and plug them in and remove them a few times to see if you can get it to turn off. I actually used a toothpick on mine to sort of tickle the inside of the jack to turn it off.
