Bridge CS3 will not fire up

Hi can anyone help, Im on a G5 new to mac software but I cannot get Bridge CS3 to load up all other applications In design, photoshop & illustrator are fine I have tried opening it from the icon at the bottom of the screen & from within applications. I did down load a patcher but do not know where to place it to see if that would work, can anyone help please - needs to be in idiot guide as I am very new to softwares etc

Use disk utility do do a permissions repair as a first step, then tell us if the problems persists
