How do you install MS media player on the mac?

I went to the download page and downloaded the program, but how do you install it?

Sorry if this is a really stupid question, just got my Imac and I am a switcher

you have to download the one for mac...i think it comes in as a .SIT file.. on my Panther G3, it came as a .sit file that automatically extracted and mounted on the desktop..then you just open the mounted image and i cant recall exactly, but you either open the file in the image, or drag it into your applications folder and launch it...
