Hello,

I am a new mac user and as of right now I know nothing about them but a few keyboard and mouse pad shortcuts. Is there anything I need to know or any information that would help me to learn my new macbook pro? Please all tips are very appreciated.

Thanks

I usually just say "learn as you go". But if there's something specific you need to do...and can't figure it out...just post.:)

If you used an external HD with W7 chances are you're going to need to reformat. Other than that it's basically the same, imo.

Thanks

Thanks! I think its a lot different compared to W7. Installing programs is much different, and I am still trying to get the hang of that. I am currently getting this same pop up is there like a spybot search and destroy for macs?

Spybot is a great app, I especially like the TeaTimer for some of my friends machines that just can't seem to stay away from nasties.

You won't need anything like that or an AV app in OS X as long as you're not pirating or clicking yes to installing codecs from some porn sites. Only reason to have an AV app in OS X currently is if you're in school or someplace else that requires you to have one. If that's the case, grab ClamXav. Read through the first page there also. Here's an honest AV app, not one of the ones trying to scare the Windows switchers into getting their money.
