LG Electronics 10X Blu-ray SATA Writer mac compatible?

i'm having difficulty finding a blue ray writer that's mac compatible

the reason i put this in the gaming section is because the purpose of the burner is to copy my ps3 games onto backup BlueRay disks using my brand new macbook pro.

Any advice is appreciated. thanks in advance

Any BluRay drive is "Mac compatible". They use standard buses. The biggest issue is finding software that can decode and play the Blu-Ray media you're interested in.

But in this case, you're trying to duplicate encrypted, commercial discs - and we won't be able to help you with that here as our forum rules forbid it.

i was actually under the impression it was legal as long as you physically owned the content. I looked it up on google but seemed to get a lot of spam. Can anyone clear this up as well?

Not in the US under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which forbids the breaking of encryption mechanisms. And since we follow US law on this forum, we're going to end this thread right here.
