Re: Trackpad on New MacBook Pro

I just bought a new MacBook Pro. Previously owned one, too. I'm have trouble setting the trackpad settings. When I move my cursor on a webpage or FB the text, graphics and whole page become highlighted in the matching color for highlighting. This is very annoying, because I have to click some where on the page to unhighligt it. Really slows me down. Also text written may move like it is stuck to the cursor. Is there some way I can set the preferences in Trackpad to avoid these problems? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

A MacBook Pro is not a Desktop computer. You might have better luck in the Apple Notebooks forum.

Sounds like you've got "tap to drag" turned on. Check System Preferences => Trackpad => under 'One Finger', uncheck tap-to-drag if it's checked.

Not a problem. Be sure to report back on how that worked for you.

I certainly will get back to you as to what the problem is. It looks like another person is having the same problem for 8 months. My new MacBook Pro is exactly 1 week old and it is very frustrating. I'm going to call Apple Care and the salesperson who sold it to us at the Apple store. It is very annoying and I will get to the bottom of this. Thanks again for your help. Talk soon.
