Imac G5 screen has neon blue lines all over

This started about 3 weeks ago, then stopped for a week, then started again. I've been reading and haven't found anyone with my exact problem but I've heard it could be the motherboard or video card. Either way, I am going to upgrade soon but I want to sell this and somewhat accurately state the problem. Many thanks..

What model is your iMac G5? Reason I ask is I helped a user here a while back. His issue was similar and was a dirty connector where the LCD plugs into the Logicboard's video jack.

It also could be something with the LCD or even the Video Chipset.
