My ical started crashing within 1 minute every time I start it. I use it heavily so it's important that it work for me. If I add a new event sometimes it stays in and sometimes it doesn't. And it won't stay running long enough to sync with .Mac. I have tried removing the sync.plist file and restarting, as well as backing up the database and restoring it. Neither worked to resolve the problem.

I am running OSX 10.4.11 & ical 2.0.5. Any help is appreciated.

What about the iCal plist file? Don't Trash it. Put it on the Desktop for safekeeping.

iCal

Is that the file nodes.plist located at USer/Library/Application Support/iCal ? I tried moving it to the desktop and starting iCal. Still crashed within 1 minute. If that's not the right file please tell me which one is correct.

Thanks.

Gonna have to dig deeper. Then will need a real expert...

How many apps are running when this happens? How much RAM do you have? Does it happen if only Finder and iCal are running?

Yeah, I have plenty of RAM - 1.25 Gb. It happens if nothing is running but Finder and iCal. I've been using this system for years and have never had this problem. Is there any way to re-install it and maintain my data?

Can somebody help this new member? I've never had to reinstall iCal. I can't help with that.

In the meantime, what Mac do you have? processor? Maybe it's time for an OS upgrade!

Can you stay in iCal long enough to go to File > Backup iCal... ?

I'd try the combo updater.
