Mirror main mac to notebook?

i currently have a mac mini (in which i made a fresh install on what i want to use and need everyday). and a macbook which i recently purchased.

is there a way for me to mirror the mac mini into the macbook? (so i dont have to install everything again manually)

or even keep an image of the mac's HD as it is, as id like to come back to this point in the future (i guess time machine would work for this last one)

You could move everything over using Migration Assistant (in your Utilities Folder).
All I could find was Apple's instructions for moving files from PC>Mac, but it works pretty much the same way with Mac>Mac. Switch 101: Migrate your Windows files or system to your Mac
