I was just about to partition my 1TB external hard drive, when I changed my mind for some reason, hit some minus partition button or something, and my original drive disappeared. I can still see the hard drive itself, but not my original partition. I have not written anything new to the drive and it was not partitioning when I cancelled. I have no idea how to get my files back.

*EDIT* here is the log.

Yes, the partition was removed according to the log. Your files are still there but you will need special software to recover them. Do not use the drive until you recover the files.

The best software for that job is "Data Rescue 3". You can download a trial copy first to test it out. If it works to recover your files, pay for a license = $99
