Opening up a MPB 2005 body

The fan is extremely loud on the left side of my MBP. I was going to open it up and see if there is anything stuck in there or replace it. I've tried open it up by directions I've found online but haven't been able to.

Is there a certain type of build that is mine? I've heard 'unibody' posted on some of the directions but most say it only goes back to 2006. I believe mine is a 2005.

There were no Macbook Pro's in 2005...since the first Intel based Mac's weren't available until 2006. This Macbook Pro also is not a "unibody" style...since they weren't available until late 2008.

If the cpu speed is listed correctly (2.16ghz), and the correct model (Macbook Pro 2,2)...then what you have is a Macbook Pro from late 2006/early 2007...and is not a unibody. If you need some disassembly instructions...here they are:
