iPhone, MobileMe and missing emails

I'm using the iPhone 3G with MobileMe. A number, but not all, of the emails I am sending from the phone are going missing in cyberspace. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Or do I need to contact MobileMe, my phone service provider or email service provider???
