Mac vs MS Exchange 2003

Hi,
I am new to Mac and I would appreciate some help from you guys.

I had no issue to get my iphone to synchronize with my company MS Exchange 2003 (contacts, calendars, emails). But I can not get it to work in my iMac; it is a new machine and appears to support only MS Exchange 2007.

Is that right?
Is there anything I can do to get it work ?

If you have Outlook Web Access (OWA) try davmail - then it will work with any mail program.
DavMail POP/IMAP/SMTP/Caldav/Carddav/LDAP Exchange Gateway
