When i turn on my ibook it takes about 4 minutes for the OS to start. First I see a blinking earth icon for about 2 minutes then a folder icon blinking for about another 2.

My ibook never did this before, any suggestions on how to remove this or is this part of the OS load up? Thanks for the help.

Go to System Preferences -> Startup Disk and select your OS X folder

The Earth means its trying to connect through a network
Folder icon means it is searching the hard drive for your OS X installation
