this is a huge issue for me because i do alot of photoshop work...

i was laboring over an image in photoshop on my macbook pro for hours.... thought i had perfected the color.

but when i went to view the same image on my brother's imac screen the color was COMPLETELY different.

why is this?

also even when i print an image from the imac, that image is a completely different color as well.

is the printer the most accurate?

why doesnt Apple just have a universal color system for all their computers i dont understand why one image on one apple system is different on another.

If you truly want EXACT color accuracy on a computer monitor/display...you have to do some calibration. Almost all laptop displays, and computer monitors will be slightly different when compared side by side.

Go into any home electronics or computers store...and compare two computer monitors side by side...or two LCD or Plasma televisions side by side...and you will see differences.

You also didn't mention what models computers we're talking about or how old each of these computers is (you certainly shouldn't compare a newer Macbook Pro to an older iMac)...age & amount of total hours used will also effect how a display looks.

Here are some articles to read regarding monitor & color calibration:
