Help!

I have a very annoying and very specific issue with video playback.

I am unable to watch flash videos on the BBC News site

BBC News - One-minute World News

BUT I have no issues on any other flash video sites, including Youtube and even BBC iPlayer.

This problem occurs in Chrome, Firefox and Safari (all latest versions).

The video player loads but simply hangs, never starts to play the video - here is a screenshot to demonstrate.

What I have tried

- removed all browser extensions
- removed and reinstalled flash (repeatedly)
- cleared all flash content
- disabled firewall
- disabled little snitch
- uninstalled little snith
- reinstalled browsers
- cleared all caches - also used Cleanmymac and Onyx to remove any old files
- changed DNS to open DNS

None of the above had any impact.

Out of desperation I have logged in as a guest account, and using safari navigated to the same page and it WORKS! Videos immediate start to playback. In addition to this there is no problem if I log in to a Virtual Machine via Parallels 6 - the videos playback on XP, 7 and Ubuntu.

So the problem must be something on my main user account that is blocking this site, or some software conflict which is blocking it.

It appears that my Mac is not even making the request for the video content.

I am considering setting up a new user account, migrating all data, and using that, however I'm hoping there may be a less time consuming solution.

I'm based in the UK, 10.6.4, 2.66 C2D with 4GB Ram. The problem began around 6 months ago at least.

Any suggestions welcome.
