I just got my copy of the new iLife '11 and installed it fine, problem was that Places lookup was disabled and none of my photos were showing up on the map.
After stupidly ringing apple support and finding out they havn't really used or even got it yet on their systems, i found the setting in iPhoto>Preferences>Advanced, the places setting was automatically put on never instead of automatic when installed. Once I set this to automatic all the photos were once again on the map.
