Trash Broken

Hi people

I seem to be having problems with my trash can.... as in when i empty it it will delete a file like 1 of 7 say then hang at 6 forever forcing me to reboot to take the emptying box off screen would any of you guys know of a fix?

Do you have a VERY large file in there? It could take a while.

Hi MacDude the very first time i did do however in my haste i force quit it and since then it does it with any size file now the last few being tiny little torrent files :(

Launch terminal.app and type:

cd
sudo rm -r .Trash (it will ask for your password)

Type it exactly and include the period before Trash in the command. The period and Trash are one word: ".Trash" There is a space between sudo, rm, -r and .Trash. There is NO space between the period and Trash.

Now log off and then back in. This will remove and then recreate your user's .Trash folder and clean out whatever is corrupted.
