I have a new 2010 Mac Pro Quad Core. I upgraded the memory as suggested in a bank of 3 sticks. I ended up with 12 GB (3 x 4GB).
My question is if Apple recommends this bank of 3 configuration, why do that have a 4th slot? Can I put additional memory in the 4th slot or will it cause issues? Should the memory in the 4th slot match the other 3? thanks.
