Hi,

I'm about to install Virtual PC on my Mac OSX and I just had a few questions.
Does installing the Virtual PC software affect my operating system, does it create a separate partition and are there any other issues anyone knows about.

I just want to be sure so I don't have any proplems with my computer.

Thanks

It doesn't have any negative effects your current OS... except of course to slow your machine down some when running it.... like any program would.

It creates a single file on your harddrive that it uses for it's "partition" data. So no... it won't effect your harddrives partitions.

VPC itself does run extremely slow even on high end machines so I have never found it to be to terribly usefull. Most people recommend just spending a little extra money and getting a cheap PC. The performance is much better and the price isn't much different.

a) No, it is treated as any other app really...

b) No, it simply creates a file with the 'PC' i.e. with the OS. This file is around 1-2GB in size, depending on the version of windows you're installing.
