Can someone tell me how to do this? The default font on the mail program is too small for me.

I figured out how to change it each time I send an email but I would like to change my default to a larger size and different font so that all my outgoing messages (and replies) will be the same (and I won't have to make changes each email).

Also, I would like to do this for my incoming mail if that is possible too.

TIA for any help, I appreciate everyone's time & assistance!!

You can set the fonts by opening Mail preferences, Fonts & Colors. Have you tried that?

Yes, I have tried that, but it didn't 'save' the changes. It went back to some other default. I will try it again though and post back.

Thanks!!

EDIT: Yes, I just tried that again and it doesn't even let me write one email with a changed font size (It also didn't give me any choices to change font type--only one option).

Open preferences again in Mail. This time check to see what format you're using for outgoing mail. I'm using Rich Text and setting the font works for me.

+1 for that tip. I don't know why it never occurred to me to change those font settings to solve this problem. When I miss something like that I really question whether I should be writing How To columns. lol

I don't understand why it's not working for you. Try switching to plain text and let us know. (Plain text will not display attributes.)

No go on the Plain Text Either.

I got home too late today, but I guess I will try Apple Care tomorrow.

Thanks for trying!!
