Problems with wireless HP photosmart connection to MacBook

Your Mac's Specs
Mac OS X, 10.5.8, 2.66GHz, 4 GB
We have my MacBook Pro Panther 15" and a vaio. Problem is when I try to connect both to network HP photosmart printer, one gets kicked off. I have just successfully reattached the vaio and now I can't print from the MacBook. Do I need to uninstall the printer and reinstall it on the Mac with the disc and everything? Should I use the Linux installer instead? (If so, I'll have to print out the instructions from the Vaio). Any suggestions? A recent NYT article suggested that it's a common problem. :(
