Keyboard freezing?

Hi!

I'm using a MacBook Pro and just a while ago, my keyboard and touchpad froze (e.g. unable to light up the Caps Lock light) although the images on the screen continued moving so I had to shut it down (the Shut Down button was the only one working).

1. Does anyone know what sort of problem this is? Is there anything one can do in such a situation other than shutting down the computer?

2. I had quite a few windows in different applications open and I can't remember what all of them were (e.g. iCal, Preview docs). Is there any way to find out which windows were open at the time when your computer was abruptly shut down?

Thanks!

There is no way to tell what caused it. It could be software or hardware related. If it occurs again, run the Apple Hardware Test on your machine.
