hey.

when you disconnect the power supply from a macbook pro 13" and the battery status when in "show time" and it changes to "calculating" is there a normal amount of time it should sit there for before it states a time...

With all this hoopla on the net regarding "calculating" on macbook, I am wondering what's normal, mine takes about 30 seconds or so...

seems like kinda of long, but maybe not...

please let me know,
thanks,

rob

Yep. Your SMC is evaluating usage stats and trends to calculate the remaining run time.

As I often say here, there is "no float in the tank" like there is in your car. Batteries are not an exact science. So, the gauge is mostly an educated guess.
