Hi, I have a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-107D on my Powermac G5 which has Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger operating system. After I have burnt data files to a -R or +R DVD the drive will not read the DVD when I put it back in. Can anyone help?
Regards

Have you checked the burned disks at another computer? It seems odd to me that the 107 will burn disks, but not read them. Usually, if a drive has a faulty lens, then trying to burn a disk will reveal it well in advance of a reading fault.

I had a Pioneer 105R in an external optical drive. It simply couldn't handle modern optical media, but I was made aware of that when trying to burn, I never got as far as a reading failure. I replaced the drive with a 112D.

Which leads me to suggest that you might like to consider an external optical drive as an alternative to your present internal drive.
