Hello,

I have a MacBook, I believe it is the santa rosa.

specs:

Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook3,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MB31.008E.B02
SMC Version (system): 1.24f2

I believe this link sums up my computer:

MacBook "Core 2 Duo" 2.2 13" (White-SR) Specs (Late 2007, MB062LL/B, MacBook3,1, A1181, 2200) @ EveryMac.com

Although the link above says my computer comes with 1gb of memory (two 512, but in system profilers it says i have 2gb, and I never added memory)

I am interested in upgrading my hard drive and memory. I just wanted to know if what I found will work for my specific macbook.

Hard drive:

DIY KIT: 500GB 7200RPM HD for MacBook,... (OWCYST9500420AS) at OWC

Memory:

4.0GB Kit (2.0GB+2.0GB) PC2-5300 DDR2 667... (53IM2DDR4GBK) at OWC

Thanks,

Steve

Yes to both. OWC is a great place to purchase upgrades and fully warrants what they sell. Be sure to follow their instructions for installing. And, do the upgrades one at a time. In other words, install the memory first and make sure it's working OK. After that, swap out the hard drive.

sweet. as far as backing up the HD, i plan on using super duper and creating the image or backup on my external, once i put in the new hard drive, i will boot from external and image the new HD with the backup and all should be good right?
