Okay, I know the title is funny... But I just got this Blueberry iMac G3 running OS 9.2 and I literally can't figure out how to shut this thing down! I don't want to force shut down again because every time I power it up after I do that, it gives me this little message saying (Your Computer was shut down improperly, Checking for loss of data) ... I've never used OS 9 before so I'm pretty clueless here... Thanks!

P.S. Sorry If this is in the wrong section, wasn't sure where to put it.

You go to the "Special" drop down menu...and choose "Shut Down". Slightly different than going to the "Apple" menu in OS X.

I got so used to OSX and did not fire up my older Macs in ages. When I did I went to the Apple and looked for Shut down! :D

The old OS9 and back were under that Special menu! I still have to look sometimes! So used to OSX. :D

Doubt it... I was looking in the completely wrong direction! I went as far as system profiler to try and find it! .... I really need to get OS X on this computer... I have a feeling OS 9 is gonna drive me crazy! :D

What, shutdown being under the special menu? It was that way from System 1-7 and Mac OS up to OSX. OSX changed from what Macs had been using for many years. Only reason it gets to me is I don't use it much anymore except for messing with my old Mac collection.

You know, get old you forget things! :D

OS 9 is much less stable as well. Not that it was REAL bad...but it's less stable than OS X. Thus you may find the computer completely frozen...cursor & all!:(

Your forgot to tell him that he needs to also jump three times on one leg and then clap his hands four times in order to keep his computer from blowing up the next time. I'm sure he would have believed you. ;)

I remember the outrage over the changes to the apple menu when OSX came out.
It makes so much more sense as it is now.

Yes...after you've ridden your bicycle 3 miles on a hot day with an iMac G3 strapped to your back to the buyers house!;)

I know you are not that clueless. My joke was more targeted at Nick. He just knows too much...except for that special trick I mentioned. You are just collateral damage in that joke. ;)

Sorry I joke around sometimes because this forum can get way to serious at times. :) It also looked like your question was answered...

I was going to ask the same question. I don't see how that fits you even jokingly. :D And how can anyone know too much?? :D

I would love to see MacDood though riding his bike through a city with a iMac G3 strapped to his back. That would be an interesting site to see and his back would be in pain after a bit! Those things are quite heavy!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Just for Vansmith.......................... :D
