Your post is VERY short on information!

- Did the Apple Genius reinstall the OS...or did they erase & reformat the hard drive...and then install the OS?
- What OS version was on it before?
- What OS version is on it now?
- What applications are you having trouble with?
- What versions are the applications?

You didn't really answer the questions I asked...I asked them for a purpose.

But the short answer is...if all of your applications aren't working...then yes...you need to reinstall them.

BTW...iTunes should definitely work...it's part of the OS install.

What do you mean they don't work? Are they opening at all? If not, are you getting some sort of error message? It would be beneficial if you were more specific.

As Nick advised, a re-install. Some large applications, particularly Office, iTunes, Adobe and the like do not transfer well and a clean install is the go. No problem if you hold all the original software and keycodes. You can re-use codes for Office etc.

Unless of course you had everything backed up via Time Machine or SuperDuper. You did have backups one presumes as they are VITAL is this day and age?
