Here's an idea, don't use those cases! That's like complaining about a car maker when a leather car bra scratches the paint underneath!

"Don't hold the phone that way" "Don't use the wrong case".....

What's next? "Don't look at your iPhone that way ! " ;P Ya just have to laugh. I do.

I don't understand why people fault a product, when a 3rd party company creates a product that damages the original product. Why don't other cases do the same thing?

I would say this is Apple's lemon…and it has gone past ripening stage. Time to juice it or toss it.

I don't blame people for being upset, Apple touted the glass on the iP4 as dam near indestructible, People expect that.

Leaving the whole antenna thing out, I'd think they could fairly easily come up with an alternative to glass for the rear panel. Not saying they ever would, but I would imagine it would be a relatively easy engineering feat to use another material if revenue ever suffered.

I disagree 100% with your statement. I think most of the iphone iphone 4 issues are just over sensationalised hype that were never really issues to begin with.

What a shock it was announced it had a glass front and back panel at the time of introduction and smart phones no matter who makes them are not meant to be dropped
or tossed around without some sort of damage, they seem to be selling very well still enjoying mine until something better comes along.

I do have to admit that I think Apple overstated the durability of that glass back. My wife started with a Bumper on her iPhone 4 and the back got scratched all to **** (ok ok! "to heck". It got scratched to heck!). Fortunately her iPhone got replaced due to the "No SIM" error that she got burnt with, just in time for Incase's Sliders to get released. I'm skeptical she'll see this cracking problem related to dirt getting inside, largely because this thing is on there majorly tight. I just don't see how dirt could get in there. But I suppose for others who have a different case…. *shrug*

Well compare this back to the back of things like the previous iphone and the ipad. The back of these 2 devices scratch very easily. A light touching by keys or even a fingernail will scratch the back of those devices.

My opinion is yes "unscratchable iphone 4 back glass" is a little over stated. But better then the previous generation's back? I think that's possible. Nothing is perfect. But better then the previous generation is the best we can hope for.

That I can agree with 100% I still don't know what Apple engineers were thinking with that cheap plastic back panel on the 3G/3GS What killed me was they didn't learn their lesson and used the same cheap plastic on the 3GS

Personally, I really enjoyed the original iPhone form factor the most. IMHO
