I just managed to use freegate, a censorship bypass program for windows, on my mac using wine.

I'd prefer to use it with Chrome rather than the IE version that came with wine. To do this I need to change the proxy settings but navigating in chrome directs me to settings in OS X. After changing it there's no problem, but when I turn freegate off I need to renavigate to settings and make it stop looking for the now nonexistent proxy.

Is there a way to do this?

Hay, I don't know the answer to your question but have you tried Vidalia? Its a Tor client. It burns right through all the ridiculous filters my company puts on our internet. OSX native and open source.

Just a thought.

Cheers
