hi guys
just a general question,i have erased my hard drive, and reformatted using the mac osx install disk,(no probs).i have looked at the hard drive icon on the desktop got the info and it says that i have used 18GB from a capacity of 595GB,leaving me 577GB.i think this is a lot of used space just to install os leopard and a few photos. Is this ok or have i gone wrong somewhere along the line of wiping the hard drive.
i am using Mac osx 10.5.6 2.93 ,intel core 2 duo processor,4 gb ddr3 ram.
any help or info appreciated
thank you
tony

No, that's about normal. When I first purchased my MacBook it had Leopard installed. The total installation without me adding any files was around 17 to 18 GB.

By the way, you should upgrade your Leopard to the latest - 10.5.8.
