Hello.

I am having a strange issue with my keyboard. The backlight keys on the macbook seem to be locked or something. Every other key in the function row works fine. When I press either key this comes up. See the stop symbol? This leads me to believe it is locked or something.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

That's the key to adjust the backlit keyboard brighter. Unfortunately, it's not dark enough for the backlight to come on, so you can't adjust it ;)

Perfectly normal.

You could use something like Lab Tick to force it to come on. I am not saying it is a good idea. Just another option.

The backlit keys are light sensitive, so if there is enough ambient light they will not come on and a symbol of a circle with line through it will pop up when you try to adjust them
