I am working on a legal case where we have to copy certain files pertaining to a case from Mac machines to an external HD and we need to preserve the path information. I realize that I can drag and drop folders and it will keep the subdirectories, but some of the folders have 5000+ docs and we only need 5.

Is there some sort of command line copy with switches that can be used to do this? Is there some software that will do this?

The external HD will then be used on a Windows based machine to create discovery documentation.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

If possibly, along with the laundry lists of requests, they would like the creation date to be preserved as well although that is less important than the file path.
