Reinstalling Tiger after purchase

Do much people after they purchase a new pb or apple in general reinstall the software ? i have heard that factory installs are the best and also that i can save some space by doing this? i know for a fact i did it with my new pcs but this is my first mac.. so just wondering

No need to do it with Mac's. There is very little installed that is you don't need and you can just drag it to the trash

i read somewhere that you could save alot of space by just getting rid of the xtra languages
