Hi,

I've had my MacBook Pro since the beginning of June without any problems but lately it has started to make a very strange noise at random times. The best way to describe the noise is like hitting a hollow block of wood at a lower pitch. I have no idea why it's making that noise but if anybody can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Strange noises are sometimes difficult to isolate. It's possible the noise is coming from your hard drive so it's a good idea to start making backups using Time Machine if you have not done so already. Since you purchased the machine last June, it's still under warranty. It may be a good idea to make an appointment with your local Apple store genius bar and have it looked at. Again, make a backup!
