First post EVER. Please forgive if I violate protocols. :Blushing: I've got a 14" MacBook. 18 mos old. Looking for a PORTABLE storage device (D-photos & basic files). I don't use Time Machine. Saw the 500GB Iomega eGo Helium Portable Hard Drive at the Apple online store. Anyone out there have any experiences (good or bad) with Iomega portables?

Your MacBook is a 13" model not 14". As far as buying a good portable hard drive, there are many choices which in my opinion are better than the iOmega.
Take a look at what's available from Other World Computing. Their Mercury on the Go series of portable drives are rated best by MacWorld Magazine.
