MobileMe sync not working

New contacts that I created on my iPod touch were syncing to the cloud but not down into my Macbook so I chose reset all sync data in sys prefs on my Macbook. I chose to keep data on my macbook - replacing all contacts on mobileme on the Apple server. But now I have no contacts left on mobileme except the last new one I created on my iPod (recently). How can I convince my Macbook to 'sync' all my contacts up to the cloud again?

I have tried turning off contact sync and then back on again. Also tried repeating the reset all sync data, unsuccessfully. Is there a plist file to be deleted somewhere? Does iSync have a part in all of this?

Will be glad for some advice, anyone. Thanks, J
